A timber trading company run by Jonas Israel, a veteran TG member.

In May 2005, we received an email inquiry from a lumber import company in Taiwan, mentioning a Mr Labib Barhoumi and asking if the company was reliable to do business with. Two or three days later Mr Barhoumi himself contacted us directly with a catalogue of accusations against McCorry. He revealed he had just severed his relationship with the company, after three months, complaining about its business methods and treatment of him. We reproduce both below.

Dear Sirs,

I have worked for the past 3 months for MCCORRY & CO LTD, MCCORRY TIMBER LTD & MCCORRY USA LTD. They have offices in Hong Kong at 3905 Two exchange Square, Suite 3756, 8 Connaught Place, Central Hong Kong. They have no phone or fax #s listed at that location. They issue purchase orders for all hardwood lumber purchasing and customer confirmation from that location by name only. All documentation are generated from the office in Sabah (Operated by Jonas Israel as director and George Olsen as product manager), or the office in Clear Water, Florida USA. That office operates under the name of ALLWOOD MCCORRY TRADING COMPANY, The address is 25400 US 19 North, Suite 118, Clear Water, Florida 33763, USA. It is operated by [name witheld].

I have been a hardwood lumber trader in the United States for the past 31 years. I trade mahogany square edged lumber, I have my own customers and saw mill suppliers around the world. I entered into an agreement two months ago with Mccorry & CO., LTD for the sole purpose of them financing my trades on a 50/50 profit split basis. It took them a month of negotiation trying to bring down my share of profit after they agreed to the split and I had orders in hand for 6 x 40' containers of Mahogany at a high profit margin. They started by offering me 20% of the profit then finally they agreed to pay me 45% of the profit and they agreed to a non circumvention agreement to protect me and a trial period of six months. They also agreed to include my name and full contact information on all correspondance with my customers and suppliers. I generated 300 e-mail's and 50 phone calls to Jonas Israel, George Olsen in Sabah and Robert Leal for them to issue the first letter of credit to my suppliers in Mindinao, Philippines. It took them a whole month and 20CM of paper to do so. In the letter of credit they wanted Mccorry & company to be the Shiper and they wanted to do the inspection using one of there grader in the Philippines, The bank refused the letter of credit (McCorry has no export licence from the DNR to ship lumber from the Philippines).

They frustrated my abillity to serve my customers and atempted to circumvent me to my customers and suppliers every step of the way for 2 months. It came to a head yesterday due to their refusal to allow me to go to Mindinao to grade and inspect the lumber prior to shipment and insisted on excluding me in all corespondence to either my suppliers or customers.

They never did any lumber business in the United States prior to me joining them in good faith and as soon as I gave them the name of my supplier in Mindinao, they sent someone from Indonesia to attempt diverting my business. It is like dealing with thieves (They make their money the old fashioned way, they steal it) Further more they bring meranti plywood from Malysia to Camden, NJ Port, United States. The last quantity they brought was 5000M3. They are selling it at a loss. They deposit the funds in JP Morgan Chase Bank in New York, then Divert it to banks in Hong Kong and South America.

I can tell you a thousand cases regarding their way of doing business that is contrary to the normal way we are used to in the United States, Europe or South America. If You need furthe information or documents or for me to testify against Amdi Petersen or Jonas Israel, I am at your disposal. They need to be put out of business.
