Garson and Shaw is a Tvind used-clothing company with addresses in the USA, London and offshore Gibraltar.  This is no charity.   It does not collect used clothes from the public, but buys them from the Humana charities, and sells them on the commercial market to shops in eastern Europe and elsewhere.

Since the charities and the company that buys the clothes are all Tvind companies, there is plenty of opportunity to exploit a cosy financial relationship.    In fact, several people have stated to us that Garson and Shaw privately 'creams off' profits for the Teachers Group, which might otherwise go to the poor.

Garson and Shaw USA

In the USA Garson and Shaw Inc is run by Allan Foighel, a Dane and  long-time member of the Teachers Group.  It is based in Atlanta, Georgia.     Foighel (born 1959) is the son of a high-ranking former Danish government minister and joined the TG in about 1978.

Garson and Shaw's website www.garsonshaw.com has listed some 10 associated companies in Europe, Asia and Africa.  They include ConMore bv, a major Dutch Tvind firm.  We believe most of these companies are part of the commercial Tvind 'empire'.

Garson and Shaw London

Garson and Shaw Ltd, a London-registered company, has an impressive-sounding address on the 29th floor of Canary Wharf tower, the tallest office block in Britain.  But according to some sources, this is just a postal address with little more than a fax machine.  

Unconfirmed contacts in Germany say that Janice Jane of Garson & Shaw Ltd also is the sales agent for Humana's companies in Germany,  trading clothes with Romania and Byelorussia.

Garson & Shaw Gibraltar

In fact, according to informants, Garson and Shaw UK actually operates from an address at Garrison House, Library Ramp, Gibraltar.   Calls to the Canary Wharf address in London are believed to be routed through to here.

The Gibraltar company is believed to have recently made three staff redundant, dues to a downturn in business.

2002:  Allan Foighel runs Garson & Shaw in the States but I don't think he has a working permit or a social security card to work in the US.   Garson & Shaw sells the product for Planet Aid, U'SAgain, and Gaia in the US and Canada.   Their American office is located in Atlanta.   'Interested observer'

 

2002:  The thing you don't write about Garson and Shaw is the most upsetting bit.   They get the clothes cheap from Humana, then they go to the clients of Humana and sell them at the normal price.   Even though for example Planet Aid in the states could sell its clothes directly it chooses to make less money for the charity and instead take this money which they would have to account for being a registered charity and give it to Garson and Shaw which is a private company.   In this way they can take 100 % of the profit they could have made to help people and put it directly into teachers group coffers.  They actually run in direct competition undercutting the charities sales network    'Sceptic Al'
