New investigation
Winestead Hall investigated again
In mid-2002, youth workers in Scotland contacted Tvind Alert to say they were receiving requests from staff at the CICD, offering to 'care for' vulnerable teenagers. In view of Winestead's record, they were very concerned.
Tony Margetts, a senior probation officer at Humberside probation Service, was also contacted by the CICD offering to look after teenagers. The social workers advised colleagues not to send any emotionally disturbed teenagers to Winestead.
Nevertheless, it appears that some social workers in England have agreed to send vulnerable teenagers back to Winestead Hall.
In late 2002, Tvind Alert received a phone call from X, a volunteer at the CICD. She confirmed that teenagers were on the site and sent a detailed email.
Humberside Probation Service has passed the information on to social workers with responsibility for the area. who are now monitoring the situation.
