Winestead - 3                           Complaints

Steen Thomsen's evidence

Winestead's headmaster, Steen Thomson, decided to leave Tvind after 26 years.  He resigned and returned to live in Denmark.

In a report to the Danish government in 1999, Mr Thomsen claimed Tvind is a cult with Amdi Petersen at the head.   He said Petersen exploited his followers, imposed unrealistic demands and was capable of brainwashing followers into carrying out his wishes, however crazy or unethical.

In one section, he detailed the finances of Winestead Hall School.  He described it as a Tvind 'money machine' for the Teachers Group.   Like all Tvind 'small schools', Winestead charged huge sums (from public funds) to look after children - but much of the money was remitted through offshore accounts to the Teachers Group.
